Ginger Bouma, PA-C
Ginger grew up in sunny Southern California, where she developed a love for the outdoors. Her path to dermatology was shaped by both personal experience and her father’s work in healthcare. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Communication Studies from Westmont College before attending PA school at Duke University Medical Center.
With a passion for solving medical puzzles, Ginger has a special interest in rashes, particularly contact dermatitis. She is an active member of the Society of Dermatology PAs, the American Contact Dermatitis Society, the American Academy of PAs, and the Christian Medical & Dental Association.
Ginger and her husband have three children, along with a dog, a cat, and a flock of chickens. She enjoys gardening, trail running, and traveling, with Santa Barbara holding a special place in her heart. She looks forward to exploring Europe with her family after finalizing the adoption of her youngest.
She is excited to be part of SmithCare Dermatology, where she feels supported by a kind and talented team. Helping patients achieve healthy skin and confidence is what drives her every day.
